Brendan Rodgers

Arsenal are in for a change of manager at the end of the season and a lot of names have been shortlisted for the role. One of the names called to replace Arsene Wenger is Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers.

This is according to several reports in the English press. Other names called are Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim, Man City coach Mikel Arteta and Germany’s national team manager Joachim Loew.

Arsenal are finally ready for a change at the helm of affairs at their club after 22 years of Wenger reign but have not finally stated who their preferred choice is. Brendan Rodgers name came to limelight when he was in charge of Swansea and his playing style attracted Liverpool to him.

He took Liverpool to second place in the league as they almost won the league in the 2013/14 season. His Celtic team won the league unbeaten last season and went 63 games before losing in Scotland. All these have put his name in the fray for another big job in one of England biggest club, Arsenal.

The interest from Arsenal are still in early stage but as the search at the Emirates intensify, Rodgers faith will be known. The odd that he gets the job is quite faint. With Arsenal current situation, a manager that has top experience will be most likely favored for the job.

His last experience at Liverpool might also work against him as he was unable to guide Liverpool into further progress after their second-place finish.

However, his youthfulness and experience inside and outside England can work for him. He also have the track record of trusting the young players and English born players which help grow the national team.

Celtic will have to start preparing for any possible outcome because Rodgers will obviously be flattered by the offer if he’s considered by Arsenal.
