Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s transfer to Premier League has been making a lot of noise in French and British media. According to Le10 Sport, the PSG striker is a firm favorite to join Manchester United, while M.E.N have reported a story saying Jose Mourinho’s arrival will trigger Ibra’s move to Old Trafford.
Following the rumours, a lot of bookmakers have slashed the odds of Ibrahimovic joining Man United next summer. We suggest giving this sports betting guide a read if you’d like to take advantage of the odds being offered on this one-off betting bonanza.
Despite being linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, joining Manchester United has been on Ibra’s mind for a while now. The 34-year old spoke with Sports Illustrated, where he hinted that he may have problems with Louis Van Gaal but not with Man United.
Perhaps Zlatan knew that Van Gaal will not survive the pressure of being a United manager for long and there could be a way where one of the most charismatic players of modern time joins one of the biggest teams in Premier League.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Ibrahimovic said: “At the end, I think he is a professional and I am a professional. Whoever I work with, I never have these kind of problems.
“Because at the end, I need to do my job and he needs to do his job, and I think a lot of fights would happen. But that’s something I like.”
At present, Zlatan’s odds of joining a Premier League is 5/2, while he is 25/1 to join either Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City. However, as for United, odds are fluctuating every single day with the latest odd being 10/1.
Despite being 34, Ibra is well capable of playing at the highest level as he showed with a valiant performance yesterday vs. Chelsea in Champion League round of 16 tie. He ended up scoring the winning goal and setting up the opening goal for PSG.
Chelsea were in fact seen as the most probable side where Zlatan would play next summer, until they decided to fire Jose Mourinho. It is no secret that Jose shares a great working relationship with Ibra, and with player finally willing to quit PSG, it is widely thought that Ibrahimovic will team up with the Special One.
At present, it looks like Manchester United is a safe bet, but as they say, you can never predict what is going to happen in the world of football. We will have to wait until the summer to know where Zlatan will play his football next season.
At this stage, Jose Mourinho remains the only viable link for United to snap Ibrahimovic ahead of any potential suitors and that is why one thinks it is imperative for United to sign The Special One.
