Wayne Rooney, James Ward-Prowse and Christian Eriksen found themselves in Gazzetta dello Sport’s latest European Team of the Week.
Rooney has looked to prove his critics wrong this year after the England skipper has already netted 5 goals in 2016. Rooney was once again on the mark against Liverpool and led the way for a crucial win for Louis Van Gaal.
Rooney in European Team of the week
Joining Rooney in this week’s European team of the week is a former Chelsea star Felipe Luis, who was not seen fit to be a regular under Jose Mourinho.
Since his move back to the Spanish capital, Luis has found his old touch and is now a key member for Diego Simeone.
Christian Eriksen was another key player in this week’s Premier League action. Spurs man scored 2 goals and had an assist, which saw Spurs breeze past Sunderland in a 4-1 win.
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was among the top stars this week, despite getting substituted due to a knee injury. Another man who caught my eye was Hatem Ben Arfa. Former Newcastle man has been reviving his career playing in Ligue 1.
