Leicester were very lucky in Gameweek 28 as their slip-up against West Brom went unpunished. Arsenal and Tottenham ended up losing their games and Claudio Ranieri maintained a healthy 3-point lead.
Leicester go in to this weekend’s game against Watford knowing that a win could stretch their lead even further given Tottenham play Arsenal at White Hart Lane. Ahead of the game at Vicarage Road, we take a look at three key questions which need answering ahead of the big kick-off this week?
Have Leicester learned their lesson?
Leicester were guilty of taking it easy after they had the 2-1 lead against West Brom. Players thought that the job was done and they could not stretch themselves for the third goal. In recent weeks, Foxes have seen how teams have defended deep against them and got away with it. Perhaps, it is time for The Tinkerman to change the strategy for his side and keep winning the remaining games.
Can Ighalo-Deeney partnership thrive?
Against Manchester United, Odion Ighalo chose to go solo on occasions which ended up costing Watford the game. Troy Deeney expressed his frustration with his strike partner and was not happy with his selfishness. It would be interesting to see if the duo have solved their little conflict and if they can come to terms and take down Leicester.
Can Jamie Vardy find his scoring touch?
It has been three games without a goal for Vardy, something, which does not sound right given the season he has had. Vardy looked flat in the game against West Brom and came too deep at times to receive balls. He needs to stay upfront and look to score goals.
