Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie could be set for a sensation return to Premier League just one year after being sold to Fenerbahce by Louis Van Gaal.
After just one season in Turkey, Van Persie is actively seeking a new club with Fenerbahce willing to cash-in on the 32-year old striker with Leicester City emerging as the prime candidates.
Van Persie virtually confirmed the move earlier today when he followed Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez on twitter within seconds to drop a huge hint on his next move, take a look:
As you may recall Van Persie was one of the finest players to have graced the Premier League after scoring over 150 goals during his 12-year stay.
Although many Arsenal fans still hate him for joining United later in his career but the Dutchman justified the move after winning the title in his very first season at Old Trafford.
However once Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, Van Persie’s career went downhill and he could not replicate the same form in the following two seasons. Eventually he had to be sold by United after few internal tussles with Van Gaal.
But after a year’s absence, Van Persie could be back in Premier League after signaling towards a move to Leicester City.
The reigning Champions (that felt good) have been criticized for their lackluster approach in the ongoing summer transfer but Van Persie could kick start the flurry of star players arriving at King Power this summer.
