Bamford closing on Middlesbrough
Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford will complete his move to Middlesbrough today, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 23-year-old will cost Middlesbrough up to £10m when the transfer goes through.
Reports suggest that he’s expected to pen a three-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.
Mertesacker to sign a new deal
Arsenal are close to agreeing a one-year contract extension with Gunners captain Per Mertesacker, according to Sky Sports.
The club can extend the German’s contract and discussions have taken place.
Mertesacker is yet to feature for Arsenal this season after undergoing knee surgery in pre-season.
Memphis looks Lyon-bound for now
Lyon are still pressing ahead in their pursuit of Manchester United flop Memphis Depay, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
Everton also remain interested in the 22-year-old winger but could be set to miss out with United not keen on a loan deal.
He told Sky Sports: “Lyon are pressing on with their efforts to sign him with Manchester United already rejecting one offer which we believe was around £13m.
“Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said they are working on it and are moving forward.
“There is also interest from Everton, they want a loan but United want to sell Memphis Depay during this transfer window.”
