For most part of the season it seemed like Arsenal were about to endure their worst campaign in recent times after they drifted away in the title race YET AGAIN after being favorites for the most part.

Fans were furious at Arsene Wenger for his incapability of signing players last summer which had a massive say in Arsenal’s lackluster 2015/16 season. Another reason of the vile gestures directed towards Wenger was the possibility of seeing Arsenal finish below Tottenham for the first time since Premier League’s inception.

Spurs were involved in the most unlikely of title races this season with Leicester City eventually walking away with the Premier League crown. As for Tottenham, they looked certain to finish second this season until their capitulation right at the very end.

Tottenham's helping hand in keeping Wenger at ArsenalTottenham could only muster one point from their last three games including the final day 5-1 defeat against an already relegated Newcastle United. That defeat saw Arsenal leapfrog Spurs in the eventual Premier League standings and suddenly turn their season in to a reasonable one.

Club’s second place finish will most definitely see Arsene Wenger remain in charge at Arsenal for at least next season and like the last 12 years, look to have one more crack at the league title.

Gunners faithfuls are yet to reach a conclusion whether they should celebrate their second place finish over Tottenham or live to regret Wenger still in charge at the Emirates. Whether it is good for the club or not, we will only figure out in coming months, however, Spurs have indeed played a massive hand in ensuring Wenger’s extended stay at Arsenal.

Wonder which side of the North London is having a laugh at the moment?
