Germany confederations cup winning defender Antonio Rudiger is expected to make a decision about his future in coming weeks. Chelsea have submitted a bid of $39 million for the AS-Roma centre back.
Rudiger played all 90 minutes as Germany beat Chile in the Confederations cup finals on Sunday night and was outstanding throughout the tournament as Germany soar to victory. Roma is set for life after Rudiger as new acquisitions are been made. The capital club has signed Juan Marcos Foyth who should serve as a possible replacement after the former’s departure.
Rudiger is expected to take a holiday after the confederations cup and discuss his future later. He told reporters after the finals as quoted by Daily Mail that: ‘It is not about the future now…it is now about enjoyment’. He further stated that ‘I need to enjoy this moment, and I am enjoying it to the fullest. The rest we will see in coming weeks.’
The joining of Rudiger will open way for the exit or loan of Kurt Zuoma whose cameo role will be further reduced. With Conte’s three man defense, Rudiger would easily slot into the formation and his leadership quality will be useful for Chelsea.
John Terry has also completed a move away from the West London, so is arrival will be of a very big boost for Chelsea has he can always easily fill in the void that are been left by.
