Jurgen Klopp could be ready for a reunion with Neven Subotic after the 27-year old was allowed by Borussia Dortmund to quit his training to hold talks with the prospective clubs.

Earlier today, Dortmund posted on twitter that Subotic has actually left their training facility to sort out his immediate future. Further reports have claimed that he is flying to England to discuss a potential move to Liverpool.

According to German outlet Kickr, Subotic prefers a move to Liverpool before any other team and will speak to Klopp first before dwelling in to the other offers.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest for the Serbian International but Kickr are convinced that Subotic’s early flight to England is to wrap up a move to join Liverpool ahead of the next season.

Subotic decided to quit Dortmund couple of weeks back in a heartfelt Facebook message and since then has been in talks with several clubs over the possibility of a summer transfer.

Klopp sees Subotic as an ideal option to lead Liverpool’s defense which was deemed as shaky and error-prone last season. Joel Matip was another summer recruit from Klopp and if Subotic joins as well, Liverpool can have a mean defense at the start of next season.

Chances of Subotic signing for Liverpool – 3/5

There are couple of factors to consider here, a). Klopp fancies the players and b). Subotic will be available for something closer to €10million, which is not a heavy fee given Subotic’s abilities.

With the presumed departures for Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure, Liverpool will need a sorted defense which requires a presence like Neven Subotic. With Matip, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho already in their ranks, Liverpool can focus more on the offensive side of the game and not worry about their defense too much.
