Turkish publication AMK Spor report Fenerbahce sporting director  Damien Comolli is keen to lure Celtic’s  Jozo Simunovic way from Parkhead to the Ulker Stadium this summer.

Fenerbahce manager Philip Cocu has reportedly told Comolli to make an offer for the Celtic player but it’s unlikely Brendan Rodgers will want to release the player.

The 23-year-old central defender played 30 games for Celtic across all competitions last season and has also been linked with a move to Fenerbahce in time past.

As it stands, the Turkish club can lay claim to just two senior central defenders and Cocu has told Comolli they need to reinforce the squad with a quality defender.

AMK Spor says Simunovic is also keen on the idea of joining Fenerbahce, and he’s made it clear to Celtic he wants to leave if the yellow Canaries make an official offer for the player.

The Turkish media often insist players are eager to sign for their biggest clubs, so this might not be the entire truth.

The former Dinamo Zagreb player’s contract is still valid for another three years.
