Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has rubbished all rumours linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge next season.

Speaking With Cope, Ramos however did accept a concrete offer from Manchester United last summer which even forced him to consider quitting Real Madrid.

In the end, his love for Bernabeu was too strong and he decided to sign a long-term contract with the club and was even named as the long-term skipper.

However, Ramos was quick to respond to the claims of him joining the Antonio Conte led Chelsea revolution next summer.

According to ESPN, Ramos said: “For a moment I thought about a change of scenery, but in the end my priority was always Real Madrid and I thought about that for other reasons. I have not heard [anything about interest from Chelsea].”

Ramos has recently signed a 5-year contract with Real Madrid and is most likely to end his career with Los Blancos. However, that does not undermine the need of Chelsea to go out and sign another central defender.

Who could Chelsea sign?

The obvious targets would be Leonardo Bonucci and John Stones, who have been earmarked as key central defensive targets for The Blues. Bonucci is a personal favorite of Conte while Chelsea have been chasing Stones for over two transfer windows now.

With John Terry set to quit the club in the summer, Chelsea need to bring defensive re-enforcement to once again be able to fight for top honors next season.
