Nigerian starlet Samuel Chukwueze is all set to sign an Arsenal contract after flying in to London earlier today.
According to Africanfootball.com, Chukwueze confirmed his friends and family on Monday that he will become an Arsenal player in next 24 hours.
The 17-year old said: “My trip to London is on Monday night.
“I’m happy that everything is going well and I will do my best when I get there by the grace of God.”
Chukwueze also confirmed that the trip has been paid for by the Arsenal football club as they are keen to sign the highly rated attacker.
According to Express, Chukwueze had agreed a deal to become an Arsenal player with work permit holding up his move. Now that the player has got his work permit, we can expect to see Chukwueze sign for Arsenal later today.
Gunners were also linked with Chukwueze’s teammate Kelechi Nwakali. The duo were star performers at the recently concluded Under-17 World Cup in Chile.
Ever since the competition, Arsenal have monitored their progress and were keen to add them to their youth setup. Both Chukwueze and Nwakali are offensive minded players, who love to run at defenders.
Their playing style ideally suits the way Arsenal play their football, and are expected to fit in to Arsene Wenger’s game plans immediately.
Arsenal manager is keen to build a squad for the future amid exit claims for Thomas Rosiscky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini. Arsenal do not want to waste money in replacing the three midfield stars.
They have already signed Mohamed Elneny and with Samuel Chukwueze signing for the club later today, we can see a fresh look to the Arsenal’s squad in coming seasons.
