For the first time, Roman Abramovich is helpless in saving Jose Mourinho

Roman Abramovich is doing his best to keep Jose Mourinho at the club, but one gets the feeling that the time has finally run out for both of them. According to Telegraph, the reigning Premier League Champions are set to hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday and the clock is ticking for The Special One.

It is believed that Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester sealed Mourinho’s fate at the club and is now on the way out of Stamford Bridge. Telegraph reports that board members at he club (Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo) will decided if Mourinho stays or gets fired this week.

Back in 2013, when Jose’s return was discussed, the decision ended 3-2 in favor of the Special One. However, seeing the epic slide this season, the result could be the opposite this time around.

The only major reason why Mourinho is still at the club is the 4-year contract he had signed earlier in the summer, which would need Chelsea to pay their manager close to £40million in getting rid of him.

The very reason has kept his job safe so far but one cannot guarantee how long will he remain at the club. And the worse part for Jose is that this time Roman Abramovich has no say in whether his good friend continues at the club or gets fired.
