Manchester United were given a huge boost earlier today when Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia, Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard completed full training session and are in contention to play some par against FC Midtjylland tomorrow night.
Manchester United have suffered a horrific time with injuries this season. At present, they have 16 players out injured and manager Louis Van Gaal is having to pick his third best team in crucial matches. However, the manager must be delighted to have four of his first team players return on time for the crucial Europa League tie.
According to reports from the AON training complex, Rojo is expected to play at least 20 minutes tomorrow and then will be assessed if he is fit to play against Arsenal over the weekend. As for Valencia, he is being kept in reserve and is readied for the game against Gunners.
Lingard is expected to start the game tomorrow, while Januzaj will play a major role in the Europa League tie vs FC Midtjylland.
Rojo, Valencia, Lingard and Januzaj return to training
Despite these four players returning, United were dealt a major blow earlier today when Chris Smalling failed to turn up for training and has been ruled out of the game against Midtjylland. It is believed that, Smalling received a knock in the game against Shrewsbury, and has not recovered since.
Smalling is not being rushed back in to action, and is being kept isolated to be fit for the Arsenal game. David De Gea is another crucial player, who will not be available for the game vs Midtjylland tomorrow.
United trail their Danish opponents 2-1 from the first leg, but do have a slight advantage with Memphis Depay’s away goal, which should make them the favorites to go through to the next round of Europa League this season.
