According to Spanish journal Deporte Valenciano, Marcos Rojo is on his way to Valencia after the La Liga club have made the Argentine international their priority summer signing.
Deporte Valenciano claim that Valencia have set aside €12million to bid for Rojo which will be offered after Shkodran Mustafi’s sale to Arsenal. Gunners are expected to complete a £26m deal for Mustafi early next week.
Spanish outlet Radio Taranja made a strong claim last night where they said that Valencia owner Peter Lim has started talks with Manchester United over Rojo’s transfer and is expecting a favor from his good friend Jose Mourinho.
Many might recall that Mourinho was once in contention to take over at Valencia last year after a fruitful meeting with the club owners at their home. However, Mourinho had by then agreed in principle to take over at United but he still maintains good rapport with Mr. Lim.
Valencia officials are expected to be in Manchester next week to conclude Rojo’s deal which will give United enough time to complete Jose Fonte’s rumoured move to Old Trafford.
Southampton defender is linked with a move to Manchester United after he publicly claimed his desires to play for a top side like Man United. Jose Mourinho is still not convinced with his defensive options and is also planning to sign AS Monaco’s right back Fabinho.
