Manchester United will miss out on Boca Juniors youngster Rodrigo Bentancur after Juventus has decided to activate an option to buy 50% of his rights, reports Tycsports.
Bentancur is linked with a move away from Boca Juniors with Manchester United heavily tipped to sign the 19-year-old play-maker. However, Juventus have made their move and are set to sign the player ahead of next season.
AC Milan and Liverpool were also linked with a move for Bentancur, who is a gifted passer and has exceptional skills on the ball.
According to Tycsports, Jose Mourinho had earmarked Bentancur as a long-term prospect to play alongside Paul Pogba, however, Juventus look set to beat United for Bentancur’s signing in coming weeks.
Is Bentancur right in joining Juventus?
Although the move is far from being completed, first signs are there that the youngster will struggle to get game time in Turin given the options Juventus have in their midfield.
Either Bentancur will be sent out on loan or will have to fight for his place in the starting XI.
