There have been several ongoing rumours regarding Odsonne Edouard’s future that it is hard to discern which is true.
After speaking with Brendan Rodgers back in April, the Irishman scoffed when a journalist asked if the striker’s buy-out clause was really £7million. Many suggested the wry smile of the Celtic boss meant the clause was lesser; in fact, the opposite is now the case.
Evening Times journalist Alison McConnell has been monitoring this deal closely for some time and is confident of our numbers.
Today the journalist happily asked questions about the current state of play and went as far as to say Rodgers tried to break Celtic’s transfer record last summer window also.
If this is true, it displays a tremendous amount of trust in not only Odsonne but the Celtic manager.
There will be a lot of happy faces if Edouard does put pen to paper, which is highly possible and if he does agree the deal for that amount of cash does he jump the line in front of both Dembele and Griffiths as the first choice striker?
