Celtic haven’t exactly had a good start this season as they were evicted from the Champions League and suffered a setback in the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops are definitely a force to be reckoned with under Brendan Rodgers, but their season could all depend on well he thrives in the transfer market this week. Interestingly, it seems the Northern Irishman has some cash to spend, as according to the Mail Online, Celtic are ready to return for Scott McKenna.
It is understood that Celtic are ready to resume their pursuit of Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna despite being turned down by the Pittodrie club who rejected a £3.5 million bid this week.
Although it doesn’t look as if that is the only deal the Bhoys will complete before the end of the transfer window, as Rodgers said this:
‘Let’s wait and see,’
‘Time will tell. I think there’s a lot of work going on. It’s clear that we need. But we’ll see.’
The Hoops desperately need to sign a central defender having witnessed some of their recent performances, and Scott McKenna may just be the man to put an end to the defensive crisis at Celtic Park.
Indeed, Brendan Rodgers has failed to find the perfect replacement for Virgil Van Dijk since his exit from the club a while back, but Scottish youngster McKenna could hold all the answers as he has already displayed his qualities in the Scottish Premiership at Aberdeen.
