Arsenal are reportedly closing on a deal to sign the highly rated Bolton defender Rob Holding, according to reports from Bolton News.
The report claims that Arsenal have finally agreed a £2million transfer fee for the 21-year old defender after seeing their opening bid get rejected.
Gunners are looking for defensive re-enforcement this summer and had earmarked Holding as one of the key summer targets.
The report further states that Holding completed his medical yesterday and is very close to agreeing personal terms with the North London giants.
Arsenal scouts see Holding as one of the best young defenders in England who has tremendous ball interception technique and blocking.
He made 26 appearances for Bolton last season and was named club’s Player of the Year by the supporters.
Gunners are hopeful of announcing the transfer in next 24 hours so that they can focus on the other matters in hand.
Arsenal are also linked with a summer transfer for Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain as Wenger’s striker hunt continues.
