Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has been named as this year’s PFA Player of the Year. The crafty winger has been in sensational form this season scoring 17 goals and assisting in further 11.

That count of 28 goals is the most any Premier League player has been involved this season. Mahrez has been biggest reason why Leicester are just 5 points away from an unbelievable title win.

With Jamie Vardy and N’golo Kante providing able support, Mahrez has been the standout player in the league this season.

Mahrez beat Harry Kane, Mesut Ozil, Dimitri Payet and his teammates Vardy and Kante to win this season’s Player of the Year award.

His dribbling, trickery and fast paced counter attacks have tormented defenders throughout the season and it was never a surprise to see Mahrez winning the 2015/16 PFA Player of the Year award.

Mahrez wrapped up his award in style as he was Leicester’s star man tonight in a 4-0 win over Swansea. Mahrez was expected to be the main man for Leicester after Vardy’s red card last weekend and he delivered it big time.

He opened the scoring and was a key figure in Leicester’s attack throughout the game. From now, Mahrez would be hopeful of helping Leicester to their first ever league title and perhaps the biggest underdog story Sports world has ever witnessed.
