Manchester United have suffered a massive transfer blow after Riyad Mahrez has ruled out a possible move in the upcoming January transfer window. The Red Devils are in desperate need to sign a world class player and Mahrez was seen as the ideal option.

The Algerian international has been in inspiring run of form this season scoring 11 goals and making 7 assists. His goal against Chelsea was a touch of class where he left Cesar Azpilicueta for dead with his skills and tricks.

Following the match, Mahrez was speaking to RMC where he said: “It would be best for me to stay. I will not leave in January, it would not be good for my team if I left.

“If you lose a player like me or [Jamie] Vardy, it may penalise the team. I prefer to continue with the team until the end of the year.”

With these comments, Mahrez has killed any hopes of a January transfer but kept the option open of a Summer transfer. Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the player and there will be offers made for him when he signals his desires to leave King Power Stadium.
