Manchester United have been given a huge lift in their pursuit to sign Paul Pogba this summer after Real Madrid have virtually pulled out of the race amid fears of not matching to United’s offer for the Frenchman.

Reports earlier today confirmed Real Madrid’s willingness to switch to their Plan B in signing Pogba’s international teammate N’golo Kante, who will be available for a mere £25million. Zinedine Zidane needs a midfield enforcer and believes Kante can also do the job amid United’s world record bid for Pogba.

Man United win the race to sign Paul Pogba

According to AS, United have offered £97million for the French midfield star and are willing to pay as much as £12million in wages if he decides to join them this summer, neither of which is within reach of the Spanish giants.

Spanish financial experts are convinced that Real Madrid will need to sell big if they want to spend massively on Pogba. Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez and Raphael Varane are lined up for Bernabeu exit but by that time United may already win the race to sign Pogba.

One big pull Red Devils have is Pogba’s history with the club. He may have left on sour terms but has always loved Man United and feels that he has an unfinished business at Old Trafford which he needs to sort out in future.

Jose Mourinho has come at the right time as well who is eager to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford and build the team around him. Mino Raiola (Pogba’s agent) is suddenly very involved with United after Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also lined up to join Manchester United this summer.

It seems as if everything is falling in place at the right time for United to agree a deal for Pogba who looks certain to quit Juventus ahead of next season. We will get further concrete updates on this matter once the player is free from his Euro 2016 duties and begins to sort out his club future.
