Manchester United are in a three way battle to sign PSG’s young and impressive defender Presnel Kimpembe, reports The Mirror (via Le Parisien).
Kimpembe, 21 has already played 8 times for PSG in Ligue 1 this season and has impressed everyone with his reading of the game.
Kimpembe’s club form has already been recognized at international level with Didier Deschamps calling him up to the senior French squad earlier this month.
PSG are keen to tie the young player to a new deal but Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to make their offers to disrupt the contract negotiations.
Jose Mourinho wants proper back up options for the likes of Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly after Daley Blind and Phil Jones have failed to grab a place in the starting XI.
Antonio Conte has struggled to form any kind of defensive options at Chelsea and is still looking to sign two defenders in January transfer window, with Kimpemb on top of his wishlist.
Meanwhile Jurgen Klopp is also preparing for a long-term stay at Liverpool and wants the highly impressive Presnel Kimpembe to be his key man in coming years.
Chances of Presnel Kimpembe coming to Premier League – 1/5
On paper, Kimpembe is easily one of the most talented defenders in modern game and him getting linked with Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool brings no surprises to us.
However, PSG have recently sold David Luiz to Chelsea and will not allow Kimpembe yo leave the club after establishing himself in the starting XI. We may see the youngster sign a new long term deal with Ligue 1 side in coming weeks.
