Liverpool will take on Borussia Dortmund inside an emotional Signal Eduna Park where all the focus will be on Jurgen Klopp’s return to his old stamping ground. The Reds will need to put aside the emotional quotient and look to get a positive result against arguably one of Europe’s most in-form teams.
Ahead of the much awaited kick-off, we take a look at the Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Borussia Dortmund. Jurgen Klopp is still not sure about his star Roberto Firmino, who is battling a knee injury, while Christian Benteke and Lucas Leiva are ruled of the game as well.
Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Borussia Dortmund
Defense: Klopp may not be excited to see Mamadou Sakho start alongside Dejan Lovren at the heart of his defense but he does not have too many options at present. Full-backs will need to be energetic and capable of running up and down throughput the night thus Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne will be Liverpool’s best bet.
Midfield: Perhaps the most sorted part of Liverpool’s current side is their midfield. In Jordan Henderson and Emre Can they have a more than capable duo who can keep out the attacking threat of Reus and Mkhitaryan.
Attack: Reports coming in from Germany suggest that Daniel Sturridge will be left out of the starting XI in favor of Divock Origi. Reason is nothing new but it is striker’s injury concerns that will see him get benched. Elsewhere Coutinho, Milner and Lallana operate in the front 3 behind Origi in attack.
