Euro 2016 Group B – Predicted England lineup vs Wales, Sturridge starts

England go up against Wales in a do or die Group B clash against their arch rivals Wales. Following their 1-1 draw against Russia, England need to win the game later today or else their Euro 2016 hopes would over sooner than expected.

Roy Hodgson has the difficult task of picking his best starting XI as he cannot afford any slip-ups in this all important game. Ahead of the kick-off, we take a look at the predicted England lineup vs Wales.

Predicted England lineup vs Wales

Sturridge ahead of Sterling

Raheem Sterling was England’s worst player against Russia and it should not be a surprise for anyone to see him get the snub with Daniel Sturridge getting a nod to start. The Liverpool striker looked lively in the short spell against Russia and will be eager to prove his selection right.

England might want to shift to a 4-3-1-2 formation with Adam Lallana sitting behind the two strikers. Harry Kane looked out of touch against Russia and will need to transform his Premier League form in to Euro 2016 success.

Wayne Rooney was a revaluation in midfield and his presence will be key as England need to counter Wales’ 3-5-2 formation. Rooney’s switching if play could come handy in catching out Wales given their full-backs pressing forward to attack.
