As the deadline move to hours to being close, Leicester City and Algerian International Riyad Mahrez has been given permission to leave his national teams training base this morning to finalize his transfer move away from the King Power Stadium.
Mahrez was spotted by his fan at an airport in Paris as he looks to move to Stamford Bridge to complete a deal of £45 million, Barcelona were also understood to be interested in the Algerian International but it appears that Antonio Conte has triumphed in signing the Leicester star.
The 26-year-old has starred in all three of the Foxes matches this season and has widely impressed with Leicester Boss Craig Shakespeare has struggled to keep hold of the player at the King Power Stadium this season, rejecting all three bids made by Italian Serie A Roma, but all hopes seems to be lost now, with the 2016 PFA player of the Year on his way to Stamford Bridge.
Mahrez will be re-uniting with former Leicester teammate N’Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge, with also Danny Drinkwater also rumored to be joining the Premier League Champions, and it will be all about re-union in West London.
Algerian Outlet Dzfoot, took to their twitter page to write that Mahrez “will wear same colour shirt” after the transfer window shuts, and that Chelsea are in the Pole Position to the sign the Algerian.
However, the Sun claims that he is “hoping Barcelona table a bid” and that his agents have already held talks with the Catalan giants earlier this week.
The 2016 African Footballer of the Year, joined the Foxes from Le Havre in January 2014 and signed a new four deal with the club August 2015, and has since helped the club to win the League title in the Penultimate season. But he went off the radar last season as the Foxes got weakened in their defence after the Premier League title and saw former manager Claudio Ranieri sacked.
