Moments earlier Professional Footballers’ Association revealed their annual 6-man list for the prestigious PFA young Player of the Year award.
Not surprisingly, Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli are in the list along with Everton stars Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku.
Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Stoke City’s Jack Butland further complete the list. The complete list was revealed on PFA’s official twitter account few moments ago.
At the moment, it would be a 3-way fight between Kane, Lukaku and Alli. Tottenham striker won the award last season after scoring 20 goals in his first ever Premier League season.
Harry Kane has once again hit the 20-goal mark and is currently leading the race for golden boot honor with 22 goals this season. Romelu Lukaku is not too far behind and is on 18 goals for the season.
As for Dele Alli, it has been an exceptional story after making his move from MK Dons last summer and broke in to both Tottenham’s and England’s starting XI this season. At 19, Alli is leading Tottenham’s title charge and is seen as a vital player for England at the Euros.
One major absentee from this season’s PFA Young Player of the Year Nominee list is Manchester United’s Anthony Martial. The French striker has made an instant impact on Premier League and he would feel ditched after not seeing his name in this season’s PFA Young Player of the Year Nominee list.
It is expected to be a tight finish for this season’s Young player of the year award. The results will be revealed on 24th April at Grosvenor House in London.
