Ahead of his much-anticipated Chelsea debut, striker Alexandre Pato has sported a news look where he now has a mustache. Pato’s new look was revealed by his club and country teammate Willian via an Instagram post.
Pato has been quietly working on his fitness ahead of the much awaited debut. According to reports, Pato will play some part in this weekend’s clash against Southampton.
Pato joined Chelsea on loan from the Brazilian club Corinthians. Pato, 26 was seen one of the hottest prospect in world football, before his career took an unfortunate slide.
Having played his way through the Brazilian leagues, Pato is back in to European football, and wants to make a name for himself with Chelsea.
The Blues take on Southampton this weekend, where Pato is expected to get his debut for the new club. Pato’s signing has been a brave step by Chelsea, who have yet again put their faith in a declining talent.
Like Radamel Falcao, Pato has the potential but no one is quite sure, if he can ever regain his deadly scoring instinct like the old days. Manager Guus Hiddink has backed Chelsea’s move to sign Pato and has shown confidence in the player to come good after his loan spell with Chelsea.
Hiddink knows that he will need squad strength going in to the final weeks of 2015/16 season. Pato could turn out to be a real wildcard for Chelsea in the remaining 15-20 games this season.
