Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for John McGinn this summer, with the speculation getting more intense this week.

According to report, thee boyhood Hoops fan trended in the transfer world as Celtic reportedly made an offer of £1.5m for the 23-year-old on Monday, which was subsequently turned down by the Edinburgh side.

The report suggests that Hibs are holding out for a fee closer to £5m for the player.

That seems an unreasonable demand for a player who is in the final year of his deal, but considering the inflation that has hit the transfer market in recent years, it is not a ridiculous valuation. The likelihood is though that Hibs will have a rethink on the fee, especially if Celtic throw in a player like Scott Allan as part of the deal.

Supporters are keen on exploring the option though with a huge 84% of respondents to a recently published poll believing that the Scotland international is worth an increased bid from the Scottish champions.
