Celtic have heated up their interest in John McGinn.
According to a vague report in The Sun, the midfielder made the shortlist of potential targets by Brendan Rodgers.
The Celtic boss made a favourable comment on McGinn more than a year ago but he already had several midfield options.
Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham were the first to be picked for the position at the end of the season with Callum McGregor, Stuart Armstrong, Eboue Koussai and Nir Bitton also offering options in the midfield.
Should any of those players decide to take their leave, Rodgers may look to sign a new player but it would be a big gamble to McGinn if he decided to join a team where there are currently six players competing for two positions.
Although he caught attention with three goals at Parkhead and Ibrox last season he only netted five in 35 appearances.
Scott Allan could be offered to Hibs in any deal but that is unlikely to count for anything in a move for McGinn whose contract is set to expire next summer.
