Leicester City star N’Golo Kante favors a summer switch to Chelsea ahead of Arsenal, Manchester United and even Real Madrid, according to the latest reports.

As per The Telegraph, Kante to Chelsea is more or less a done deal after the French midfielder’s wish to work under Antonio Conte after seeing the Italian manager’s impressive work at the Euros.

Conte is now focused on the Chelsea job after Italy were knocked out at the quarter final stage by Germany last night. One key area Conte wants to strengthen is his midfield and that is why he was eager to bring Radja Nainggolan from AS Roma this summer.

However, after three failed bids The Blues have now turned their attention towards Kante where a rough £20-23million fee would see him sign for Chelsea. Kante has a £20m release clause to his contract which Leicester are desperate to re-negotiate with the 25-year-old star.

However, Kante has ruled out the possibility of signing a contract extension and looks certain to be on his way out of the King Power Stadium. Kante was wanted by almost every top team in Europe after his exploits with Leicester City last season.

Likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid had earmarked him as their key summer target but the player prefers to stay in England with Chelsea being his ideal destination.

Chances of Kante signing for Chelsea – 4/5

There are very few certainties about the next Premier League season, however, one which is somewhat clear is Kante’s impending move away from Leicester this summer.

The player made a name for himself last season and this is the best time to make the most of his impressive 2015/16 performances. Perhaps Kante has chosen wisely as well after Chelsea’s midfield looks the shakiest amongst the top Premier League teams.

Arsenal have brought in Granit Xhaka, Manchester City signed Ilkay Gundogan, Tottenham brought in Victor Wanyama while Manchester United are in talks to bring Paul Pogba back to Premier League ahead of next season.

With Nemanja Matic’s slide in form and John Obi-Mikel’s sub standard performances, Kante would be ideal for a team like Chelsea and a manager like Antonio Conte.

The Italian demands cautious aggression from his players and that is where Kante excels. He is a tenacious tackler with very assured passing abilities. At this time, this deal looks like a perfect match for both club and the player and I am certain of it getting completed in coming weeks.
