Liverpool fans have experienced a fanatic summer transfer window with Sadio Mane being the latest arrival an Anfield. However, it is widely believed that Jurgen Klopp will make couple of more signings to ensure he has a balanced squad going in to the 2016/17 season.
Latest player to be linked with a move to Liverpool is Klopp’s former prodigy Neven Subotic, who confirmed his decision to quit Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.
Subotic took to Facebook to confirm his decision after being frozen out on the bench by the new manager Thomas Tuchel. Subotic only made six appearances last season and is now keen to seek a move away from Signal Iduna Park.
Liverpool is his preferred choice as it would allow him to reunite his with his former manager Klopp, who had brought him to Dortmund back in 2008. The Reds are looking to strengthen their defense this summer with proposed exits for Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure.
Why Subotic will be ideal for Liverpool?
On his day, the 27-year old is one of the most dominant central defenders in Europe and with him in the squad, Liverpool’s defense will have an assured look about it.
With Joel Matip already signed this summer, Klopp will have options to rotate his defenders in a season where Premier League will be the only real concern.
Add to that, Subotic is valued in the region of £15million, which is nothing short of a bargain given his defensive abilities. The player is also keen on joining the club which will allow Liverpool to swiftly agree a move for the Serbian defender.
