Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho claims that French Midfielder Paul Pogba “is not happy” with the role he is playing alongside Blaise Matuidi in France midfield.

The 24-year-old has been on the sidelines for the Red Devils since their 3-0 win over Switzerland side Basel in the Champions League, in which the French midfielder suffered from hamstring injury.

The injury got him sidelined for France 1-0 victory against Bulgaria – in which Matuidi scored the only goal of the match – as well as their 2-1 win over Belarus.

The former Juventus player, who has been impressive this season playing alongside Nemanja Matic in the Reds midfield, has failed to score for his country since November 2016, now claims that he is not happy with the role given to him with his national side being managed by Didier Deschamps.

The Red Devils boss said when asked about Pogba: ‘He can make football history. He has talent.

‘We have the balance in midfield to occupy space better [this season]. ‘[Partnered] with Matuidi [in the France team], I think he isn’t happy.’

France national team qualified for 2018 World Cup in Russia following their 2-1 win over Belarus at home, with Pogba claiming his injury before the match.

The 24-year-old has proved outstanding for the Red Devils this season, starring six times and scoring twice in the Premier League, he is reportedly recovering from his hamstring injury in Miami also missing out in United’s goalless draw against Liverpool on the Weekend.
