Mourinho confirms Man United can seal deal for 28-goals hitman, fans will like this

After having his successful Premier League season cut short by an injury that ruled him out for the Europa league final, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is recovering faster than expected.

But he was released by Manchester United after his one year contract expired at the end of June. However Jose Mourinho has not ruled out the possibility of the Swedish returning to the club before the end of the transfer window.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined United after a successful spell at Paris Saint Germain. He was ruled out for the rest of the season during a Europa game against Anderlecht in April, for which he had to go under the knife.

Ibrahimovic was initially ruled out for the rest of the year and United released him after his contract expired in the summer. However, the Sun claims United’s medical staff are amazed by his recovery and the striker could make an early return from injury in October.

Mourinho has reinstated United “want” Ibrahimovic, and would love him to come back to Old Trafford but the decision lies in Ibrahimovic hand. “It’s possible, it’s open.

Of course,” Mourinho said, as quoted by the Mirror, when asked if United could re-sign Ibrahimovic:

“We want him to be honest and open and let everything be there for him to make a decision in case his desire was to leave, so there was not a new contract. There was a space and time for everyone to think, to feel, to decide and, from his point of view, he made the decision to still want to play football at the highest level.

It would be easy for him to hide behind such an amazing injury and say it’s time to play at a different level. But he made the challenge for him to continue at the highest level. We opened our door for him to recover with us and then to make a decision.”

Ibrahimoic was the highest goalscorer for United last season scoring 28 goals in all competitions.

The crucial goals coming in the EPL cup final where he scored a brace to help United beat Southampton 3-2. Zlatan returning to United makes Mourinho have variety of option up front with Lukaku also available to play centrally.
