Mesut Ozil has taken over from Eric Cantona to have the most prolific assist to game ratio in Premier League history. Former Manchester United legend had 56 assists in 156 games with a ratio of 2.79 game per assist. However, Ozil has notched up 21 assists after 57 games taking his ratio to 2.71 game for each assist.
The all-time list is filled with present and former Gunners stars including Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Cesc Fabregas, Santi Cazorla and the record breaker Mesut Ozil.
Ozil has started the season on a sparkling note as he has already assisted 7 of Arsenal’s goal in League this season. That stat again makes him the best assist maker across all top 5 European Leagues. Ozil even scored the all-important second goal against Bayern Munich to seal an emphatic 2-0 win over the Germans to revive Arsenal’s hopes in Champions League.
Arsenal have been doing wonderfully well in the league this season as they are currently second, only 1 point behind the leaders Manchester City. Arsenal have shown incredible consistency unlike any of their previous season by registering back-to-back victories against Manchester United and Everton.
Next for Arsene Wenger awaits a Capital One Cup round of 16 clash against Sheffield Wednesday and the manager has promised to shake off few things in the starting XI. Callum Chambers and Joel Campbell will return to the starting lineup to hand them some important minutes under their belt.
