Liverpool Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva is set to put an end to his Liverpool ten years reign as he plan to join Serie-A team Lazio. He is expected to undergo his medical in Italy on Monday as he nears a move to Italy, according to the Mail.
The newspaper claim on their website that Lazio have agreed to pay the Merseyside giants £5million for the 30-year-old Brazilian. The report further stated that he is negotiating personal terms with the Serie-A club as everything is almost set for him to move to Italy.
Lucas who joined Liverpool from Brazilian club Gremio was not included in the Liverpool side that trashed Tranmere 4-0 in a friendly on Friday night.
He has been an integral player for the Reds since joining during the stint of Rafael Benitez but his playing time has reduced since Jurgen Klopp took the Anfield reigns. He featured more in cup games than the league matches under Klopp, making just 12 league appearances. All now seems set for him to put an end to an illustrious stay at Anfield.
Lucas made 346 appearances for Liverpool and will be hoping to help the Simone Inzaghi Lazio’s team achieve great things in the Europa league next season and a better Serie-A place finish.
