Celtic are on the verge of signing Australia international Daniel Arzani on a two-year loan deal with an option to secure his signature permanently, according to the Daily Mail.
The news publication claims on their website that Arzani, 19, had a medical with Manchester City on Friday night, before finalizing his move from Melbourne City and then being shipped off to join the Bhoys on loan.
It is understood that an agreement is in place for the playmaker to relocate to Parkhead as soon as a work permit is acquired.
The Mail further stated that Celtic are not only hopeful of signing Arzani, as they still remain in the hunt to sign Hibernian star John McGinn despite having had three bids turned down by the Edinburgh side.
Arzani may not appear regularly with the first team during his first season at Celtic Park, especially if McGinn is snapped up as well as him, but he may get more features I the 2019-20 season.
He is not quite the finished product just yet and Rodgers will have to round off some of the edges before giving him a major first-team role.
A full season of playing as a rotational player should do that before Arzani really starts to prove his worth.
This is a really good signing for Celtic and the option to buy clause in his deal is a masterstroke of genius by Rodgers.
Expect Daniel Arzani to be unveiled this weekend at Celtic park.
Goes without saying he is an outstanding talent.
