The recent fiasco surrounding Anthony Martial and being snubbed from his number 9 jersey by Manchester United has seen the French striker tipped with a move away from Old Trafford.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the new number 9 for Man United and it has not gone well with the young French striker, reports the trusted French journal RMC.
Soon after the news, he changed his social media profile pictures to launch his new brand ‘AM9’, while he put a snap wearing his old United 9 shirt as his cover photo.
It has led the media to draw conclusions of his unhappiness at the club and an itching desire to part ways with The Red Devils amid the squad number row.
As vague as it may sound but Daily Express claim that odds on Martial quitting Manchester United have been going down like pack or cards with Arsenal leading the race.
According to Ladbrokes, Gunners have seen their chances of signing Martial come frown from 9/1 to 11/2 (almost half) in last 24 hours. Elsewhere PSG are second with 9/1 while Chelsea are the third favorite and are priced at 16/1.
Do we buy this story?
Absolutely not! Martial is not stupid enough to quit on Manchester United who took a £36million gamble on him last summer and have seen the 20-year old forward turn in to an important part of their team.
According to reports, Martial is set to be handed the number 11 jersey this summer (previously worn by Ryan Giggs) which is seen as a huge honor for him.
I admit the level of communication was poor on United’s part but it is not something which would eventually see Martial head out of the exit doors of Old Trafford.
