In a dramatic turn of events, Liverpool are all set to sign Chelsea target Marko Grujic in a deal close to £5.1million. According to Liverpool Echo, Grujic has already landed in England and the deal is expected to be confirmed later today.
Grujic will not be loaned back
Initial reports had suggested that Grujic was to be sent back to Red Star Belgrade, however, contrary to those reports, Jurgen Klopp wants Grujic at Anfield for rest of the season.
Klopp sees the 19-year old a real talent for the future and does not want to see his progress from a distance. Klopp has promised Grujic some first-team action this season before maturing him in to a Liverpool regular.
Grujic was targeted by the likes of Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan before he chose to sign for The Reds. Excited by the possibilities, Grujic had confirmed the move on his Facebook wall saying: “On 4th January I will become a Liverpool player.”
This is as good as confirmed transfer move, only thing we are waiting is for official confirmation and which jersey number will he be given? Number 8 maybe, we will have to wait and see.
