Jose Mourinho’s second summer signing revealed

Manchester United are interested in signing Julian Draxler from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, according to reports from Bild.

Incoming manager Jose Mourinho is keen to sort out United’s attack which could only manage 49 goals in 38 league matches last season.

Draxler, 22 is known to operate in both wide as well as central areas and is one of the most creative players in Europe right now.

He joined Wolfsburg only last season in a £25.5million move from FC Schalke. Despite spending only 12 months at Volkswagen Arena, the player is keen to look for fresh challenge.

Draxler has started both of Germany’s Euro 2016 clashes so far and is growing as a player with every game.

Mourinho sees Draxler as the ideal option to sort out United’s wing woes after Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard failed to nail down a regular place from the right wing last season.

It is expected that Mourinho will deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation at Old Trafford next season with Anthony Martial from the left hand side and Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the leading striker up front.

It is the right wing which still needs sorting with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Andre Gomes linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. Mourinho however sees Draxler as the viable option given his age and ability over the ball.

Man United may need to splash something in the region of £40-50million to sign the German International given his recent arrival at Wolfsburg and the obvious talent he possess.
