The long running transfer saga of Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set end next week with Manchester United leading the race for his signature, according to reports from Bild.
It is believed that the Borussia Dortmund attacker has made up his mind as to where he will play his football next season and it will be revealed by next week. The same has been confirmed by Dortmund’s technical Director Michael Zorc.
Zorc spoke with Bild earlier today and said: “We will make a decision this week”. At this moment, Arsenal and Chelsea are hoping to make a late swoop, however, United are confident of signing Mkhitaryan after their latest offer.
According to Bild, United are ready to pay in excess of €30million for the player, who is seen as one of the most creative players in Europe right now. With 23 goals and 32 assists last season, Mkhitaryan is the most wanted attacker in European football at the moment.
Jose Mourinho is looking to bring a right winger to the club before he starts shaping his tactics and figuring out his potential starting XI for next season.
Why Mkhitaryan’s transfer is a Done Deal?
Dortmund’s troubles have increased in recent seasons after several of their players decided to quit Signal Iduna Park, but the biggest blow came when Robert Lewandowski left for Bayern Munich and that too on a free transfer.
German giants do not want to repeat the same mistake where they end up leaving the player in final year of his contract and then lose him on a free transfer.
Whilst, Mkhitaryan has confirmed that he will not renew his Dortmund contract (which expires next season), the club are more than happy to sell him to the highest bidder.
Man United are winning the race to sign Mkhitaryan is because of two things – Money and the sheer need to buy a wide attacking player. The Red Devils have struggled for creativity from the wide areas ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club back in 2008.
United are ready to press ahead for the move with an offer of €30million and above. Mourinho is eager to strengthen all the weak areas at Old Trafford and signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan would certainly improve his squad immensely, as he looks to make his Premier League comeback later this summer.
