Carrick too old to get a contract extension

Jose Mourinho has sensationally come out claiming that Michael Carrick is now too old to get a contract extension at Manchester United.

Mourinho claims that at the age of 35, it is very hard for the club to offer the Englishman a new contract, which looked a certainty a few weeks ago.

Carrick said: “Let’s be honest,” Mourinho said. “I have seen many positives in Carrick. But I cannot go to his identity card and delete five years. Michael is not 30.”
