Arsenal fans can now celebrate, at least for the moment as Mesut Ozil has laid to rest the uncertainties surrounding his future at Arsenal after claiming that he is staying put at the club.
It can be recalled that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s futures at the Emirates Stadium has been in doubt, with both of them having just a year left on their respective contracts.
As speculations continue to gather over Sanchez’s future, it is almost certain that Ozil will be staying at the North London club. German play-maker has decided to continue his career at the Emirates where he won have three FA Cup medals since he joined the club.
The World Cup winner is confident an agreement will be reached before the start of the new season.
“It is definitely my preference to stay,” The former Real Madrid attacker said after the Gunners third kit was unveiled to the Public. “It is such a great club and I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal.
Once everyone is back in London we will sit down and discuss about the future. For now the most important thing is our pre-season and getting through the tour, training and getting fitness. When I’m back in London, we will sit down and discuss.”
Arsene Wenger will be hoping that Ozil can convince Sanchez to stay at the club to help achieve great things together.
