According to reports, Louis Van Gaal was given 3 game’s time to save his Manchester United career. Unfortunately, he has already lost one of those 3 games against Norwich and now faces a must-win game against Stoke this weekend or else he will be fired.
However, what good those three points at Britannia Stadium would bring to Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal? It is certainly not the case where, a win against Stoke would put all things in order for Manchester United or for Louis Van Gaal.
Contrary to that, the win might peg The Red Devils even further as their next challenge would see them go up against a resurgent Chelsea side. And on current form, I do not see United winning the game against Chelsea.
If that happens, what will the United board decide then? It appears to be the case where Van Gaal has lost the dressing room, at least a part of it and his tactics are not going to improve overnight.
In that case, either Manchester United need to back Louis Van Gaal regardless of the result against Stoke or get rid of him and not wait for the game against Chelsea. The fiasco created by Van Gaal’s sacking rumours has certainly put another scar on Manchester United’s legacy of being a club with rich history and tradition.
