Louis Van Gaal may have taken the phrase SEXY FOOTBALL in a whole different context when he demanded his players to be hungry and horny for a win ahead of the all-important clash against FC Midtjylland.
For all his time at Old Trafford, Van Gaal has been blamed to play dull and boring football. It seems as if the criticisms are finally getting to the Dutchman, who is now demanding sexy and attractive football from his players.
Ahead of the Europa League second leg tie vs Midtjylland, Van Gaal said: ‘Desire, hunger, and a lot of times I use the word horny.’
With these comments, he left everyone in the room amused and lost for words. Van Gaal went on to explain how he thinks Midtjylland will be a difficult game for his players. The Dutchan cited that their opponents will come to Old Trafford to play the biggest game of their lives.
And if the first leg was anything to go by, they would be even harder to beat this time. That is where the desire from Manchester United players should come in as well. To quote Mr. Van Gaal, players must be horny for this kind of a game and step up when their team needs them the most.
United trail their Danish opposition 2-1 from the first leg. However, one crucial part that plays in United’s favor is Memphis Depay’s away goal, which should allow United to play at their tempo and look to kill the game in the first half and progress to the round of 16 of Europa League this season.
