Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United career appears to be on the fringes after the Dutch manager skipped today’s training session leaving the job on his deputy Ryan Giggs. According to Sky sports, Van Gaal was not present for today’s training session as he battles to keep his job.
According to Sky Sports, Van Gaal is set for another meeting with the United board, which very well could be his last. Following the 2-0 defeat against Stoke, Manchester United hit a new low and it does appear that he is all but gone after 18 months in charge of the club.
Early suggestions were that Jose Mourinho will be the next manager at Old Trafford, however, with Real Madrid courting the Special One, that looks a slimmer possibility now. Ryan Giggs could be the ideal choice to succeed Van Gaal until the season ends with Pep Guardiola taking over in the summer.
Sky Sports understands that something big could happen at Manchester United before the day ends and it could be the news of Van Gaal getting sacked after his absence from the training ground today.
