Louis Van Gaal persoanlly meets Alexis Sanchez to force an audacious transfer move

Louis Van Gaal has been talking about his Manchester United side needing speed and creativity going forward. There have been several names suggested to fill that void including La Liga superstars Neymar and Gareth Bale. Despite these two big names being rumoured, Spanish newspaper Don Balon are projecting a whole new transfer saga developing at Old Trafford.

According to Don Balon, Alexis Sanchez is the player, Van Gaal is keen to bring at Old Trafford next summer. And if the news sources are to be believed, Van Gaal persoanlly contacted Sanchez to let him know about Man United’s interest of signing him next summer, if he decided to leave Emirates anytime soon. This has emerged after Van Gaal witnessed Alexis tearing apart his United side in a 5-minute spell.

Although, the transfer looks vaguely out of the line especially after Sanchez’s brisk start to his Arsenal career, where he is regarded as Gunners’ most important player. In the last 18 months, Arsenal have relied heavily on Alexis to produce goals and assists. Furthermore, Arsene Wenger has already committed the cardinal sin of selling his best player to Manchester United (Robin Van Persie), which did not turn out well.

Van Persie led the Red Devils to their 20th Premier League title in his very first season at Old Trafford. Having seen than, Wenger will not repeat the mistake of selling his star player to one of his direct rivals and that too Manchester United. However, flip side to that story comes in form of the insane money Van Gaal has got at his disposal and if he wants Alexis next summer, you can bet your bottom dollar for Ed Woodward to do his best in attempt of pursuing the Chilean superstar to join Manchester United next summer.

It will be fascinating to see how this story evolves in coming weeks. For now, it can only be said that Van Gaal has contacted Alexis to make him aware of United’s intentions next summer, if he were to consider that offer.
