Jamie Carragher has been vocal about Liverpool’s transfer plans during the ongoing January window. According to the former Anfield great, The Reds will sign new players, especially in defense.
Speaking with Sky Sports, Carragher said: “There will be people coming in because of the injuries that the club have at the moment – the squad’s not deep enough.
“But I don’t think as a manager or a club you want to buy someone now in a panic and maybe regret it for next season.
“If they can get the right the player they want now, get him – if not, bide your time and wait for the summer.”
Liverpool suffered two fresh injuries blows last night as Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren were struck with hamstring injuries.
The duo join the likes of Jordan Henderson and Martin Skrtel, leaving Liverpool’s defense very thin. If Jurgen Klopp wants to turn Liverpool’s season in to a success, he must be allowed to spend in January and bring players who will be of great use next season as well.
