Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool could make a move for Spartak Moscow’s £25m-rated winger Quincy Promes to bolster their squad following Sadio Mane’s January exit. Mane will miss eight games for Liverpool after deciding to play in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Mane’s absence will be greatly felt by Liverpool as the Senegalese forward has managed 9 goals and 8 assists so far, this season. Philippe Coutinho has just returned to training while Daniel Sturridge’s fitness is still a big concern.

Citing the lack of options, Liverpool Echo have suggested that Klopp could go back for Promes in January after admitting defeat in Christian Pulisic’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Do Liverpool need Promes?

The 24-year-old attacker is just the kind of player Klopp has always liked to work with. He is young, promising and is willing to fight for his place in the team. His eagerness to get on the ball and dictate the play makes him an ideal Liverpool signing.

Chances of Promes signing for Liverpool – 2/5

Although Klopp would want to go all out for Quincy Promes in January, I somehow feel he will wait until the summer and see if Pulisic can be signed from Dortmund. Liverpool fans must not get ahead of themselves just yet and think that Promes is a done deal in January.
