Jurgen Klopp and excitement go hand-in-hand, however, if German Football expert Kristian Sommer is to be believed, it is going to get even better. According to Sommer, Klopp is readying a mammoth £114million raid to sign Mario Gotze, Leroy Sane and Granit Xhaka.
Jurgen Klopp has already played a huge role in convincing Schalke defender Joel Matip to join The Reds next summer. According to Klopp, Matip’s deal has saved the club huge sum of money. However, Sommer thinks Matip will not be the last Bundesliga player to join Klopp at Anfield.
Sommer revealed these information while speaking to Liverpool Echo earlier in the day. Sommer believes Klopp has very strong Bundesliga connections and he will use them to strengthen the Liverpool squad next summer.
While one would laugh over these comments made by Sommer, but it makes total sense simply because of the current situation of all three players. Leroy Sane (£40m) has been attracting a lot of interest in recent weeks with Manchester City and Real Madrid being the interested teams.
Granit Xhaka (£37m) has openly claimed his desires to play in Premier League with Arsenal being strongly linked for the Monchengladbach ace. As for Mario Gotze (£37m), we all know the pain he is going through at Bayern Munich over lack of playing time.
So keeping these points in mind, Sommer told Liverpool Echo when being asked if Klopp will try and sign players from Bundesliga. Sommer said: “Matip’s teammate at Schalke Leroy Sané is currently being chased by many Premier League clubs.
“Also Granit Xhaka from Mönchengladbach could be a possible target for the position in defensive midfield and it could be quite interesting to see what happens with one of Klopp’s former favorites, Mario Götze in the summer.
“However Liverpool would not only have to pay a lot of money but reach the Champions League. Who knows?”
Klopp’s Bundesliga revolution can only be good news for Liverpool football club, who have struggled to compete with the best in Europe for some time now. With Klopp’s vision and shrewd transfer tactics, we could see Liverpool be recognized as one of the serious contenders to win the Premier League title next season.
